Hunt stock, worn with a fashionable equestrian stock pin for smart appearance, are pinned with a stock pin, horizontally, through both ends of the stock & into the knot or just below. Riding stock are white tie worn around the neck & used for show in dressage, eventing & jumping. Hunting stock for the hunt originally served a safety purpose, emergency bandages for injured horses or a sling. Also Show Browband available when matching a show tie.
How to Tie Hunting Stock
Throw end over shoulders & down the back. Fasten stock's buttonhole to stud or collar. Thread behind neck, inside to out, long end into stock slot. Pull ends to chest. Make knot, as shoelaces tie, close to your neck. Throw an end over right shoulder. Place chest end over left shoulder, folding upward & over. Bring other end through fold. Pull the ends upward.
